On june 17th 1995 the Gullkistan art festival was opened in Laugarvatn. More than 130 artists of different fields took part all over the village.
The second festival was opened on june 17th in 2005 with even more participants. Art everywhere and other activities including the Gullsprettur run and the midnight walk to the Gullkistan mountain.
Since then we have worked on our dream to make Laugarvatn the paradise for creative people from all around the world. The Gullkistan residency welcomed the first guest in june 2009.
June 17th this year we celebrate the 15 year anniversary and invite everyone to visit us at the Eyvindartunga farm between 4 and 6.
