Iceland has the usual 12 months jan-dec. But we also have the old way of following time. The coldest month from late january to late february is called Thorri. We celebrate Thorri with special food and festivities because we know that from now on the days are longer and the spring will be coming before too long.
This year the owners of Eyvindartunga had a double celebration because they were finishing the renovation of the farmhouse and studio in the old barn. So they had a Thorra gathering for their families and for all the people who came to work on the houses.
Gullkistan had it’s representatives and on the occasion handed out some presents to thank for the trust they have been shown. Then there was a performance about the ever-young question: “Is this art?”
